Finance Professional

Sean McLean goes where the banks won't. It's the space he has built his career in, and it's where he does his best work.

As a founder of Dream Freedom Financial, Sean has spent the past five years helping grow the business into an established Perth brokerage. He has built a reputation for taking on the deals that don't fit neatly into a bank's checklist.

Sean has a genuine love for the complex deal. He works with clients ranging from first-home buyers to seasoned investors, developers and high-net-worth individuals, often people whose ambitions have outgrown conventional lending. His expertise spans private lending, commercial finance, development funding and complex residential scenarios. When a bank says no, that's usually where his work begins. He knows where the alternatives lie and how to structure a deal that stands up.

With a background in finance and behavioural science, he brings commercial rigour and a genuine curiosity about people. He takes the time to understand what a client is building before recommending a way forward.

Before finance, Sean spent five years playing ice hockey across the US and Canada. That experience left him with a competitive edge and a deep respect for the people beside him.

An entrepreneur at heart, Sean understands what it takes to build something of your own, and he brings that same commitment to every client he works with.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this actually cost me anything?

In almost every case, no. Brokers are paid a commission by the lender you choose, not by you, so the advice and legwork are free at the point of use.

I haven't started looking at properties yet, is it too early?

It's actually the best time. Knowing your borrowing power before you fall in love with a place saves a lot of disappointment later.

My bank already said no. Is there any point trying again?

Often, yes. A "no" from one lender is usually about that lender's specific policy, not a verdict on you. Different banks assess self-employed income, credit history and complex deals differently - finding the one whose criteria actually fit is exactly where a broker earns their keep.
